What the Inspection Involves

A home inspection consists of a visual examination and non-destructive testing of the physical structure and systems of a home, from the foundation to the roof. Home inspections are designed to determine the overall condition of the property and disclose defects that could affect safety, livability, or resale value.

Amtech's full inspections include:
  • Roof, vents, flashings, and trim.
  • Gutters and downspouts.
  • Skylight, chimney and other roof penetrations.
  • Decks, stoops, porches, walkways, and railings.
  • Eaves, soffit and fascia.
  • Grading and drainage.
  • Basement, foundation and crawlspace.
  • Water penetration and foundation movement.
  • Heating systems.
  • Cooling systems.
  • Main water shut off valves.

Following the inspection, which usually takes two to three hours, a report is delivered which details the general condition of the home and its components. This includes all significant, dangerous or costly deficiencies and any recommendations.
